Additional information

Provides a unique dataset to robustly validate Karstunen's previous anisotropic soft soil model. This comprehensive 8-year experimental programme attracted substantial funding from Academy of Finland (grants 40702, 53936, 210744) and the EC (AMGISS project MRTN-CT-2004-512120). A robust implementation of the model within the Plaxis finite element code was made by Marie Curie Fellow Sivasithamparam during his industry secondment from Strathclyde, as part of EC project GEO-INSTALL (PIAP-GA-2009-230639). Due to high demand from industry and academia, Plaxis has decided to include the model in the 2014 version of their commercial code (Plaxis BV, Dr Ronald Brinkgreve, r.brinkgreve@plaxis.nl).
