Additional information

<15> Workflows are mechanisms for coordinating multi-step, multi-resource processes. Taverna is amongst the most widely used open source scientific workflow systems in routine research use. This paper is significant because it reports on the formal semantics of the second version of the Taverna system. Version 2 has over 30,000 downloads and is used, on average, by over 1000 different researchers per month. It forms the basis of European e-Infrastructure in BioDiversity, Digital Documents Preservation, HelioPhysics, Bioinformatics and Virtual Physiology.
