Additional information

<15> Pairwise comparison of criteria is widely used in multi-criteria decision making, but when users rank criteria they may introduce intransitive judgements (inconsistency) into the analysis. This paper is significant because it introduces a heuristic method to address such intensive judgements that is near optimal and outperforms comparable approaches in terms of computation time. The method is incorporated in a decision support tool, PriEsT (http://sourceforge.net/projects/priority/), which has had over 800 downloads (July 2013).
