The paper has a major impact in seismic design practice and is expected to influence the future versions of seismic design codes. Based on findings of this work, a new project "Sustainable and resilient steel frame with post-tensioned connections and rate-dependent dampers" has been funded by EPSRC (EP/K006118/1), with collaborators including Arup Group Ltd and the Steel Construction Institute.
