Additional information

Y. Kwak (youngbin.kwak@duke.edu) and co-workers at University of Michigan, who are independent of our research team but who are working on very similar challenges, recognised and acknowledged this paper as significant in the development of fMRI biomarkers of Parkinson’s disease (PD) that can reliably distinguish those with PD from healthy age-matched individuals. Specifically, in ‘Kwak et al, Front Syst Neurosci. 2012; 6: 52’, they state that our study shows “significant ALFF changes in a number of brain regions which reliably separate PD from healthy controls”.
