Additional information

This publication is a substantial extension from a conference paper published at the World Congress of Sustainable Technologies, 2012, that won the best paper award for the conference. It is based on a research project that performed a large amount of simulation and measurement work in the area of this paper. The purpose of the project was to look at the design of micro-turbines to be used in built up areas, which is an area for which little research has been performed. Based on the results of this study, further research will be performed into optimising the blade design for these turbines.
