Additional information

The paper presented a novel approach for producing accurate and reliable results for incomplete experimental mode shape expansion. The approach considers the modelling errors in the analytical model and the uncertainties in the vibration modal data measurements. This expansion approach was demonstrated by its application to one of tallest constructed tower structures in the world, Canton Tower, generating an invited paper in a special issue on SHM benchmark of Smart Structures and Systems. The work led to further publications and collaborations with Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
