Additional information

<22> Originality: The book provides an innovative task-oriented perspective on building solutions to a wide range of natural language processing (NLP) problems. Crucially, it offers uniform interfaces to both language data and language processing tools, with greater depth in semantics and discourse than competing texts.

Significance: As one of O'Reilly's iconic 'animal books', it communicates the ideas of NLP to a much wider audience than academia, in particular to software developers in industry or public organisations whose applications involve working with online text.

Rigour: All examples in the text are implemented in Python and have undergone thorough testing and review.
