Significance of output:

Reports on progress of our work (Nature Photonics 4, 690-695 (2010)) dealing with a new class of all-optical coherent regenerator. To gain industrial acceptance, we tested re-engineered regenerator on an installed fibre (Southampton-London) - being the only field demonstration of such regenerator. Three world-recognized research groups (Wilner, University of Southern California, http://csi.usc.edu/faculty/willner.html, Peucheret, Technical University Denmark, http://www.fotonik.dtu.dk, C.Schubert, Heinrich Hertz Institute, http://www.hhi.fraunhofer.de/) follow up on our research. Know-how gained protected by two patents (GB2483878, WO2012035304.A1). We were invited to contribute to prestigious book series ‘Optical Fiber Telecommunications, Vol. 6, PartA: Components and Subsystems (2013),’ edited by Kaminow and Wilner (http://store.elsevier.com/Optical-Fiber-Telecommunications-Volume-A/isbn-9780123969583/).
