This international collaboration (FP7 and British Council) has produced a novel method to plasma modify bucky paper electrodes (producing controlled morphologies and enhanced surface area), that has led to increased (6.8 times) field enhancements, with lower turn on fields (3.5 times), a four-fold increase in capacitance. This work has led to fuel cell and super capacitor studies with Varda (USA) and AVX (£2m) Capacitors and recent Sensor funding (£5m INI CHIC) is permitting further developments.
