Additional information
This study was dedicated to incrementally learn human behaviour in a smart home as part of a project in Austria for elderly people in assisted living. Motivated by its social, economic and wellbeing impact, it aims to assist elderly people in rural areas to manage their daily activities in their own home, safely and comfortably. The work has been well received as several invitations have been made to the author, including joining EU consortia. On the strength of this contribution Bouchachia was invited to co-edit a special issue on the topic in 2013 (Journal of Medical and Biological Engineering).
