A numerical model for calculating vibration due to a harmonic moving load on a floating-slab track with discontinuous slabs in an underground railway tunnel
The research reported in this paper has been used to enhance the PiP model (Pipe-in-Pipe) available as freeware at www.pipmodel.com with over 200 registered users worldwide (109 in Europe, 24 in China). The software is used by consultants and developers in the assessment of vibration environment from proposed and existing railway tunnels. Key users include ARM Acoustics (ID_in_audit_file@armacoustics.co.uk) and RockDelta (ID_in_audit_file@rockdelta.com). This paper led in part to a new EPSRC MOTIV grant (RG67256, GBP346k) which will incorporate detail of foundations, intersecting tunnels and other buried structures for further development of the PiP model (http://www2.eng.cam.ac.uk/~hemh/PiP.htm).
