Peter Vogel: Kontexte fuer eine Reise in Zeit und Raum.
This article was originally commissioned to accompany the Wergo DVD Peter Vogel: The Sound Of Shadows: A Documentary By Jean Martin & Conall Gleeson (WERGO DVD MV0805-5), on which it appears in both German (translated by Jean Martin) and English under the Title Peter Vogel: Contexts for a Journey in Space and Time. It was then selected to appear in Neue Zeitschrift fur Musik. It deals with the eminent German Sound Artist Peter Vogel, and examines his work in both contemporary art and music. The article has also been presented as a paper at a one-day symposium at Brighton University in conjunction with the first major UK retrospective of Vogel’s work and has since also been published in the catalogue for the Peter Vogel Retrospektiv exhibition at the Ostre soundart gallery in Bergen, Norway. Submission: PDF which combines German version with an English translation by the author. A hard copy of the German article is also provided for legibility of the figures.
