Additional information

<23> Axons are the cabling of the brain; estimating axon diameter is integral to the mapping of brain connectivity - a key challenge recognized by the major investments across the Atlantic ($50M US Human Connectome Project; €30M EU Developing Human Connectome Project). Using novel computational modeling, we realize accurate mapping of axon diameter for an order-of-magnitude more brain regions than previously possible. This represents a key milestone towards applying axon diameter mapping to quantifying brain connectivity. Oral presentation (Top 5%) at ISMRM’11, the premier international conference in magnetic resonance in medicine.
