<26>This paper has revitalised “implicit modelling”, a whole area in Computer Graphics. It introduces a new family of blending functions that are designed to address major outstanding problems, providing a

general solution. Published in April 2013, researchers are already using the operators it describes. These new methods add further support to our previous work that has been adopted in the 123D Creature System by Autodesk (contact Ryan.Schmidt@autodesk.com) We have used the methods in the context of game design, and for sketch based modeling; it was the basis for the implicit skinning paper (ACM TOG 32(4)).
