Additional information

<26>This paper demonstrates how small temporal variations in facial expressions - in humans and computer generated faces - can have a large effect on trust. It provides fundamental insights into the human perception of faces, and also demonstrates that timing for expressions is crucial in order to create human-like animations. The work is cited across computer science, psychology and business studies for research on social interaction (e.g. Van Kleef 2010), personal relationships (e.g. Duck 2011), virtual computer agents (e.g. Gratch 2007/8/9/10), computer expression recognition (e.g. De La Torre and Cohn 2011) and leadership qualities (e.g. Trichas 2012).
