Additional information
The research allows for the calculation of variable turbine cooling flow and the effect it can have on the life of the engine. The paper was highlighted by the ASME Journal of Turbomachinery as being within its 10 most downloaded articles for 9 months, (9/11 - 04/12, http://asmedl.org/journals/doc/ASMEDL-home/most_downloaded.jsp?KEY=JOTUEI&Year=2012&Month=4&agg=md). The findings led to a 4 year follow-on research programme sponsored by Boeing ($150k). Contact Dr Peng Ho from The Boeing Company, Seattle, USA, peng.y.ho@boeing.com.
