Additional information

<22> Research on intelligent robots has focused mostly on the development of autonomous capabilities. However it faces technical difficulties. This paper reported the techniques developed in an international joint project WiME (Royal Society of UK and NSF of China) for robot navigation using pervasive intelligence. The paper proposed a novel Bloom filter based routing technique and a snake based technique for distributed navigation. The developed techniques enable a simple and cheap robot to efficiently work in a real world environment. This work has been invited as the keynote speeches in 2 IEEE conferences. Jiang was the PI of the project.
