Additional information

<23> In this paper we report on one of the first attempts at person verification by fusing biometric face and lip features. This work was carried out in collaboration with the Signals and Communications Department, University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), and was partly funded by the Spanish government. This work is part of our larger programme on lip biometric technology. An award-winning spin-out company (Liopa) has been established to commercialise our lip-reading biometric technology, and the technology is under evaluation by a leading biometric company.
