Additional information

<20>Tag-clouds are a popular technique used in the WWW to represent summaries of relevant terms within a document or a set of documents. This paper investigates this visualization technique from a perceptual standpoint and provides a study that highlights its weaknesses and strengths. This full paper was published in the ACM Hypertext conference, the main venue for high quality peer-reviewed venue for research on “linking”. The paper describes a rigorous empirical investigation and is recognised as a seminal paper on the perceptual study of tag-clouds and as a fine example of applied perceptual research on information visualization.
