<06> This paper is a summary of significant strand of research concerned with supporting the migration of enterprise system infrastructures to the cloud. The novel characteristics include a cost-simulation engine that covers clouds from several providers, with a configuration language for workloads that change over time and a method for socio-technical analysis to assess organizational impacts of change. The work was evaluated in depth using several industrial case studies. This innovative work resulted in the development of the first non-proprietary cloud costing simulation tool which has now been taken to market through a startup company (impact case study).
