Additional information

<02>One of the first papers to address the problem of data faults, which can cause 50% or more of observations from real-world wireless sensor networks to be invalid. It demonstrates that spatial correlation can detect over 90% of such problems using only local communications while reducing redundant wireless transmissions by 50% over other methods, with statistical calculations constructed to ensure low local processor and memory usage. Rigourous cycle-accurate simulation shows that the approach scales to networks with hundreds of nodes. This was the initial paper in very fruitful on-going programme of research now extended to spatio-temporal data fault detection.
