Additional information

Toshiba Corporation set up a new research group in 3D computer vision in their Cambridge Research Laboratory to exploit this technology and employed both co-authors, Hernandez (now a Senior Engineer at Google) and Vogiatzis based on the influence of this work. 2 patents for extensions of this paper were awarded - GB2452944 and GB2464453.

The algorithms in this paper have been used to reconstruct museum artefacts and sculpture (Fitzwilliam museum - http://carlos-hernandez.org/gallery/ and http://www.eng.cam.ac.uk/news/stories/2011/Antony_Gormley/) and are being commercialised by Toshiba's Cambridge Research Laboratory (Dr Bjorn Stenger - ID_in_audit_file@crl.toshiba.co.uk).
