Winner of the prize for Best Compressor Paper at ASME Turbo Expo 2012, accepted for publication in the Journal of Turbomachinery, and the PhD student (Young) won a Rolls-Royce Best PhD award. The work has been directly responsible for 3 follow-on projects in Cambridge (all starting in 2012/13) with a total grant value of GBP875k (NMZC/801 (MHI), NMZC/810, NMZC/818 (Rolls-Royce/TSB)). Rolls-Royce consider this work represents a key step towards providing the ability to understand and predict compressor performance at off-design (near stall) conditions.
