Additional information

The results and the methodology developed from this study have formed the backbone of Rolls-Royce’s fan-OGV noise design system and the actual designs of the 3D outlet-guide-vanes (OGVs) for the company's current and future large civil fan engines, with significant noise reduction. (Rolls-Royce contact: Dr Nick Humphreys, ID_in_audit_file@rolls-royce.com). The methodology and know-how developed in this paper has also led to the award of TSB projects SYMPHONY (RG52237, GBP118k) and HARMONY(RG52889, GBP510k) as well as EU Framework 7 Project OPENAIR (RG68654, GBP75k). This paper has been accepted for Journal publication in AIAA J.
