Additional information

<26> This paper presents a novel formulation of the Hough Transform that enables this technique to be applied for more complex shapes, whilst still being computationally efficient enough for application to video sequences. The power of the technique is in its ability to carry out detection even in the presence of cluttered backgrounds and partial occlusion. The developed methods have been integrated within software packages for the analysis of powertrain drivebelts by Pixoft Ltd and used by engineers at DAF Trucks NV in Holland, Ford Turkey, and Nissan in Japan (contact Jimmy Robinson, MD of Pixoft Ltd, info@pixoft.co.uk).
