The school food revolution: public food and the challenge of sustainable development
In 2013 the authors won an ESRC Outstanding Impact Award based upon this research.
This book is the outcome of a research project led by Morgan and Sonnino which took three years to complete and focused upon analysing the role of public procurement in re-fashioning sustainable school food systems. This research effort involved detailed data collection in urban and rural areas of Europe and North America, coupled with analysis of the United Nations’ school feeding programme for Africa. In terms of scope, the book examines the theory, policy and practice of public food provisioning, offering a comparative perspective on the design and delivery of sustainable school food systems.
