Additional information

Not a review paper, but an in-depth research programme (EPSRC project “Engineering the Green State of Powder Materials”, GR/S70937/01 collaborative with 5 other research groups and 17 companies). It tested all established and some novel methods (co-invented by Berry and Kulkarni) for measuring powder behaviour in the powder metallurgy industries, the relationship between them and the meaning of the measurements to the real manufacturing processes. It gave solid practical recommendations for use of measurement techniques for this industry sector. The most downloaded paper of the year in the IMechE Journal (letter of confirmation available or ref katrina.newitt@sagepub.co.uk ).
