Additional information

This work supported the development of a novel design of Reaction Wheel for satellites carried out in collaboration with SSBV Space and Ground Systems UK (James Barrington-Brown, Director: J.Barrington-Brown@ssbv.com) that has won a 3 million contract to supply these wheels to all 18 satellites of the Orbcomm 2 constellation (worth 117$M), plus a 4 million option on a follow on contract. This work on sources of microvibrations has also allowed the consortium Surrey Satellite Technologies Ltd. / University of Southampton to win a 400K contract from the European Space Agency (Methodology for Analysis of Structure-Borne Micro-Vibration).
