Additional information

Introducing a new approach to animated content production based on world-leading research in 4D capture of surface shape/motion. This approach removes the requirement for expensive manual modelling of characters and reproduces the visual quality of video. This paper presents two significant advances: motion control by non-linear interpolation of 4D capture sequences and 4D parametic motion graph representation. This paper is the first to demonstrate animation from 4D capture and received a Best Paper Award in ACM SIGGRAPH Symposium on Interactive 3D Graphics and Games. This research is now the focus of EU project RE@CT (react-project.eu) led by the BBC (graham.thomas@bbc.co.uk).
