Additional information

A problem in MIMO systems is that the number of receive antennas has to be equal or greater than the number of transmit antennas, and previous MIMO detection schemes do not work for rank-deficient systems where the number of transmit antennas is greater than the number of receive antennas. This imposes a major limitation on the application of MIMO techniques to practical wireless systems. In this paper, we effectively tackled this problem with a novel MIMO detection scheme with enhanced interference and noise estimation capability. This leads to larger areas of MIMO applications and wider market opportunities.
