Additional information

We present a system employing two dimensional, joint frequency and time domain spreading, known as MC-2D-CDMA, to exploit both time and frequency diversities. The proposed MC-2D-CDMA system has been shown to perform better than systems with one-dimensional spreading in fast fading channels. We have designed a simple yet very effective two-dimensional adaptive receiver and a subcarrier phase tracker. The proposed system is very well suited to signal transmission in time-variant frequency-selective fading environments. This multi-dimensional spreading scheme is now being considered as the basis of 5G standards.
