Additional information

The lack of efficient methods to produce precisely engineered plasmonic nanostructures on low cost substrates, such as glass, has been an important challenge to integration of plasmonics into technologies, including solar cells, waveguides or sensors in future lab-on-chip. We demonstrate that this technique can fabricate a wide range of plasmonic optical structures. In fact, the technique presented is now an integral part of a recently funded FP7 grant (NMP4-LA-2012-310229) for €4.3M to investigate the mass production of plasmonic solar cells using laser processes.
