Additional information

Results of an exchange visit between Surrey and Penn State. This work is fundamental in understanding how cluster SIMS improves molecular signals for eventual 3D molecular profiling. 3D molecular depth profiling of molecular materials with high spatial resolution is the “holy grail” of materials analysis, particularly for biological materials. Currently Cluster SIMS is proving to be one of the most likely instruments to provide the needed analysis. Understanding the technique is essential and was pursued by an EPSRC grant (£200k) and work resulted in a number of invited papers/presentations.
