Delta band contribution in cue based single trial classification of real and imaginary wrist movements
This paper describes the first use of Brain Computer Interfaces (BCIs) and surface electro-encephalograms to classify the imagined movements of a hand in different directions. The work resulted in an invitation to organise a session at ISABEL 2010, a leading international conference (Dr E. Cianca, cianca@ing.uniroma2.it). The research was described in an editorial in Clinical Neurophysiology 120(8) 2009, and led to a successful clinical collaboration with Leslie Wallace (Southern General, Glasgow, leslie.wallace@nhs.net) on BCI-based rehabilitation in patients. The work was presented at UKIERI 2011 (http://scistv.ulster.ac.uk/isrctv/video/123/UKIERI-Workshop-2011-Talk-6), leading to Vuckovic becoming the neuro-engineering expert for the FCO (Erin.McInerney@fco.gov.uk).
