Additional information

This was one of the first research articles to investigate the energy balance of grass biomethane, and provided the foundation for greenhouse gas analyses, resource assessment and economic appraisal of the grass biomethane system. The research led to further collaboration with Bord Gáis, and was used in studies by Bord Gáis into the potential renewable gas resource in Ireland. The paper provided the basis for a chapter in an Environmental Protection Agency report and was highlighted in the European Commission DG Environment New Service. The paper was central to a presentation that won a national competition for postgraduate researchers.
