Additional information

This work represented a significant departure from the more traditional applications of digital methods in product design and manufacture - extending their applicability to novel business practices based on service support contracting. The research examined the application of process simulation methods to the development of complex maintenance procedures for mature aerospace platforms. The project was carried out in collaboration with BAE Systems who are among the first to look at availability contracting as a means of ensuring commercial sustainability (Ref. Jonathan Murphy, S4T Work Package Lead, BAE Systems, Warton UK).
