This output was an international collaboration with the University of Minnesota, recognised pioneers in use of profilometry of biomaterials, where Mitchell is an Adjunct Professor. It established the use of profilometry to quantify early dimensional stability of dental resin-modified glass ionomer luting cements. The work was supported by NIH/NIDR grant DE09737 and industrial funding (3M ESPE, Rosalind Randall) providing a post-graduate secondment to Minnesota.
