Additional information

This paper is the first in the scientific literature to systematically describe in detail the development of a plug-assisted thermoforming process simulation. The work has resulted in a prototype software tool that is currently being used to find commercial solutions for industrial partners (Industrial contact Mr W Colquhoun, Kobusch UK). It was also successful in attracting commercialisation funding (£100k, InvestNI POC36A) and as a result negotiations are currently at an advanced stage for this business to become a university spin-out company.
