English abstract

This paper reports an analysis of cooperation between suppliers and European grocery and drug store retailers. It applies an effect model of supply chain cooperation to empirical evidence of relationships between consumer goods manufacturers and retailers. The paper examines variables that have impact on supply-chain co-operation. The results suggest that supply-chain managers should establish an open flow of information to improve the success of such co-operative ventures. Furthermore the analysis emphasizes the importance the factor social competence has with regard to this success. The paper provides a contribution to recent interest in supply chain cooperation shown by researchers and businesses.
