Additional information

Organic semiconductors have the potential to provide a flexible, cheap way of producing large area imaging arrays. This paper was the basis for understanding the fundamental limitations of the technology for building arrays of pixels that include scintillators (scintillators are required to convert X-ray energy into optical photons). The output led to designs for test arrays that were then built at Cambridge (with input from Plastic Logic) for evaluation. Role: As PI I provided ideas on the structures to be considered that were worked on by the first author, my PDRA.
