Additional information

This output consists of the following elements: the ‘Introduction’, Sharp’s own chapter, and her research contribution to the volume. This volume is the second in a series of three exploring the response of the women’s movement to the outbreak, duration and aftermath of the First World War. The volume was designed to move beyond parallel accounts based on nation states and identify common themes that affected women across national borders, with a distinctive emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe. Thematic coherence was facilitated by an editorial meeting in Budapest in 2009 funded by the Leeds Humanities Research Institute.
