Additional information

<15> This paper proposes a method to simplify XML structures by using a normalization process. A case study is presented to show the application of these normal forms and normalization algorithm. The work provides a theoretical basis for the work presented in paper 4. The significant contribution of this work are that any complex data set can be normalized and the processing of complex data sets can be transformed to the standard database relations. As most medical related information are presented in XML format, the work provides a new approach to store and maintain health information in a conventional database .
