Double-weighted statement

We would like to propose this monograph for double-weighting. This is a full-length biography of John Cleland as well as a work of literary criticism, 150,000 words in total. In addition to considering a complex body of published material, the book presents extensive archival research on letters, private notes, and newly discovered legal testimony. Manuscript sources were consulted at the India Office Collection, BL; Archives of the Court of King’s Bench, plus probate records and letters, British National Archives, Kew; and Bodleian Library.
