The project, GWR funded (Project 280 – Innovative Technology for the Quality Control of Specular Ceramic Materials), builds upon prior EPSRC funded work (Machine vision surface analysis and neural network modelling of metal alloys GR/S11572/01), that extended photometric stereo to moving surfaces in industrial inspection applications. This work was undertaken in collaboration with Surface Inspection Ltd (Unit 8, City Business Park - Easton Road BS5 0SP Bristol, Tel: +44-(0)117-2140808, Email: info@surface-inspection.com), and further extended functionality to specular surfaces for the first time.
