This paper has been used by ALCOA (Aluminium Company of America, USA) for the design and novel numerical modelling of thin-walled sheet metal forming processes for aluminium beverage cans. The developments of this paper were also integrated inside the LS-DYNA commercial finite element software that is used by ALCOA.
