<16> This paper reports on the first work to show the efficacy of a semantic web approach on the IPAW provenance challenge (where it tied for first place, 2006). Since that time, the use of provenance languages on the Web, based on this work and several others, has become a common practice, and in April 2013 four World Wide Web documents based on this approach were approved as Web standards.
