This is the first study that has focused solely on construction middle managers within Further Education and makes a significant contribution to the under researched area of career transitions into FE by using the sociological framework of masculinities to examine the management of transitions. As a result of this work, I am currently in negotiations to speak at the British Association of Construction Heads 2013 conference to present the findings of this research and to further develop this research agenda in collaboration with the Association.
