To the Wedding is a screenplay based on John Berger’s novel. It was commissioned by Screen Siren Productions in Canada (http://www.screensiren.ca/2009/12/to-the-wedding/), and has reached the funding draft stage. It has recently secured an international commitment from co-producers in Berlin and Italy. A major Italian director is now considering this project with co-production funding being put in place, for a possible shooting date in 2013. The novel by John Berger is told from various perspectives and different moments in time. It explores the themes of love, desire, mortality, disease and hope through the narrative of a young woman who, after she falls in love with a man, discovers that she has AIDS.
