Additional information

<6> The YA-MAC WSN protocol developed in this paper was the first not to require perfect synchronization or constantly awake networks, to enable monitoring, control and message routing in cyber-physical systems. This completely distributed protocol is used in NERC’s FUSE-Underground Sensor project (https://connect.innovateuk.org/web/network-of-sensors/articles/-/blogs/underground-sensor-networks-aim-to-improve-management-of-floodplains) and in a city-scale system being implemented by Intel’s Institute on Sustainable Connected Cities (www.cities.io).
